What is the Physical Security Village?
We’re a not-for-profit aimed to teach people about physical security. We most commonly appear as a “village” at conferences, where you can come by our room and try our hands-on exhibits to learn common vulnerabilities, and how to fix them.
What will I learn in the village and in PSV Events?
We have many mini-doors with all sorts of commonly seen door hardware – you’ll learn common vulnerabilities such as improperly protected latches, egress hardware that can be actuated with bypass tools from the other side of the door, how alarm systems can be defeated and surveillance systems avoided.
What do I need to know before visiting your village?
We are one of the most accessible villages in terms of being able to quickly pick up skills in the village without prior background. We’ll have all tools and learning resources you need, read the instructions beside each exhibit and try it out – if you run into any trouble, ask any of our volunteers in green shirts and they’ll help you out!
I can’t make it to a conference, can I learn your material online?
Yes! Many of our past talks are recorded and available here, and you can still access a lot of the online hands-on content we developed during COVID right here on this site. Finally, we have a Discord server where people share fun physical security-related material they discover and learn about what the village is up to!
